8 Places to Hit During Tybee Restaurant Week

Eight restaurants signed on for Tybee Restaurant Week this year, running August 3 through 17. That's a manageable number to actually work through over two weeks, whether you're here for a long weekend or watching from across the island as a local. We're not going to pretend every stop is a must — we'll tell you honestly why each one is worth going, and let you build your own order from there.

A quick note before the list: none of these eight have a single, fixed Restaurant Week discount you can count on walking in. Tybee Island Main Street leaves the format up to each business — a special dish, a specialty drink, a dessert, a prix fixe menu — so treat this list as a guide to who's participating and why, not a menu of guaranteed prices. Ask what's running when you order.

1. Nickie's 1971 Bar and Grill

1513 Butler Ave, a few blocks up our own street — the easiest stop on this list if you're staying with us. It's a sports-bar menu done well: wings, crab legs, hand-cut fries, steaks, shrimp, burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, with pool tables, darts, and karaoke most nights. Daily lunch specials run Monday through Friday, and happy hour is 4–7pm the same days — worth timing a stop around if you're after the best value on the menu. It's open until 3am most nights, which makes it a realistic late option if your Restaurant Week day runs longer than expected and everything else on this list has already closed.

2. The Deck Beachbar and Kitchen

404 Butler Ave, inside the Beachside Colony Resort — about 1.2 miles from us, so plan on a short drive rather than a walk. It's the only genuinely oceanfront restaurant on the island, and the menu backs up the setting: Australian, coastal Mexican, and Hawaiian influences show up as fish and chips, buffalo wings, and beachside cocktails. Lunch and dinner daily, weekend brunch, no reservations — go for a sunset dinner if you can time it. It's the one restaurant on this list where the setting alone would justify the trip even without Restaurant Week running.

3. Sea Wolf Tybee

106 S Campbell Ave, on the south end. Sea Wolf is the destination-dinner pick on this list — a supper-club-style room with a 1960s-steakhouse-inspired à la carte menu built on genuinely local ingredients: Tybee Oyster Co. salt bomb oysters, Georgia wild-caught shrimp, Chatel Farms beef tenderloin. There's no phone line and no reservations, so plan to walk in, ideally not right at peak weekend dinner hour. Open Mon–Fri 4–10pm, Sat–Sun 11am–10pm, with weekend brunch from 11am–3pm. If your group only has one nicer dinner in the budget during your stay, this is the one to spend it on.

4. Windrose

19 Tybrisa St, half a block from the pier. Windrose is the reliable, affordable bar-food stop on this list — fried fish, fried prawns, patty melts, burgers, crab cakes, most of the menu landing $8–20. It's the kind of place with a genuine local following (it holds close to a 4.5 rating for a reason), open late, Mon–Sat 11am–2am and Sun noon–2am. It's also one of the few spots on this list open past midnight, which matters if you're coming from a late beach walk or the pier and want something more substantial than dessert.

5. The Surfing Goat

15B Tybrisa St. A coffee-and-bagel shop with a jam-band, Grateful Dead-leaning vibe — drinks named after Billy Strings and Jerry Garcia Band songs, bagels steamed then toasted so they're crispy outside and soft inside, with gluten-free options. Open Thu–Sun 7am–2pm only, so this is a morning-specific stop, not a backup plan for later in the day. If your trip only overlaps a Thursday through Sunday, it's worth building your first morning around — the hours don't leave room for a weekday visit.

6. Farace's Finest

1605 Inlet Ave. Opened March 2025 by a 20-year veteran of Atlanta's SweetWater Brewery, Farace's makes its own dough and marinara in-house and finishes every pie with fresh-grated parmesan reggiano. It's to-go focused — no inside seating — but the patio is one of the best on the island and keeps growing, and it's dog-friendly if you're traveling with one. Open Mon, Wed–Sat 11:30am–9pm; closed Tuesdays. 7. Sand Cat Coffee

602 1st St. An independent, cat-themed café open all seven days, pouring coffee and tea from local roaster PERC alongside ice cream and baked treats from Auspicious Bakery. A good stop if your group needs a slower, sit-down coffee break between a beach morning and a dinner reservation elsewhere. Being open all seven days makes it the most flexible pick on this list if your schedule doesn't line up with the more limited hours at The Surfing Goat.

8. Sugar Shack

301 1st St. A Tybee institution more than 50 years running, Sugar Shack started as a walk-up summer ice cream stand and is now open close to year-round, roughly 8am to 9pm (later on Fridays and Saturdays). Pet-friendly, with ice-cream-cone-shaped outdoor seating that's as much a photo op as a place to sit. The right way to close out a Restaurant Week dinner, not open it — plan your evening so this is the last stop, not the first.

How we chose

All eight of these are the confirmed Tybee Restaurant Week participants for 2026, organized by Tybee Island Main Street — we didn't add or drop anyone, and we're not ranking them against each other beyond the order above, which roughly follows distance from our own Butler Ave address. Two are effectively next door or a short drive (Nickie's, The Deck); the other six sit on the island's south end near Tybrisa Street, 1st Street, Inlet Avenue, and Campbell Avenue, which is a genuine several-block walk from Butler Ave — worth a car, a golf cart, or a good pair of shoes, not a next-door stroll.

Format varies restaurant to restaurant during Restaurant Week itself — a special dish, a specialty drink, a dessert, a prix fixe menu — so don't expect one universal discount across the list. Ask what the Restaurant Week special is when you sit down or walk up; not every spot posts it on a sign out front.

We also didn't include anywhere we wouldn't send a friend on a normal week, Restaurant Week or not. That's the same standard we hold our regular dining recommendations to, and it's why this list skews toward places with a genuine local following (Windrose, Sugar Shack) alongside the newer names getting their first real spotlight (Farace's Finest, Sea Wolf). A couple of these — Sea Wolf and Farace's — are new enough that we hadn't written about them before Restaurant Week gave us a reason to.

What this list doesn't cover

This is specifically the eight confirmed Restaurant Week participants, not a full Tybee dining guide. Our regular dining page covers the rest of our everyday recommendations — the breakfast diners, the seafood shacks, the sushi counter — for the other fifty weeks of the year when Restaurant Week isn't running. If a name you'd expect isn't on this list, it's because Tybee Island Main Street's official participant list is what we're working from, not because we forgot a favorite.

A practical note for a multi-stop day

If you're trying to hit more than two or three of these in a single day, pace it — a coffee-and-bagel stop at The Surfing Goat, a casual lunch at Windrose or Farace's, and a Sea Wolf or Deck dinner is a realistic full day without anyone in your group feeling like the whole trip turned into a food tour. If your room has a kitchenette — ours does, in the "2 Queen Beds with Kitchenette" room type — handling breakfast in and saving the appetite for lunch and dinner out is an easy way to fit more of this list into a short trip without overdoing it.

Parking is the other logistics question worth planning around. Tybee is metered island-wide in season, and six of these eight spots sit in the busier south-end cluster near the pier, where spots fill up fastest at peak lunch and dinner hours. Walking from Butler Ave or riding a golf cart avoids the search entirely for anyone staying central; if you're driving in from elsewhere on the island, budget a few extra minutes and bring a card or the parking app rather than assuming you'll find something right out front.

If you're only here for one day

A single-day visit doesn't have to mean picking just one restaurant. A realistic one-day version of this list looks like: coffee at Sand Cat Coffee (open every day, unlike The Surfing Goat) on the way to the beach, a casual lunch at Windrose after a morning in the water, and dinner at Sea Wolf or The Deck depending on whether you want a supper-club room or a table on the sand. That's three of the eight in a single day without rushing, and it leaves the other five for a return trip — which, given the two-week window, is a realistic plan rather than wishful thinking.
